Bmw Z4
The 2008 Z4 is a 2-door, 2-passenger luxury sports car, or convertible sports car, available in 3 trims, ranging from the Roadster 3. The BMW Z4 is built at the company's Spartanburg, South Carolina, facility, and has been in production since the 2003 model year and the production cars were introduced at the New York Auto Show in April of 2006.
The new z4 comes in 2008 and in a hardtop convertible like the Mercedes Benz SLK. Another notable element is the car's chiseled exterior design, which BMW says is used to add tension to the car's shape.
The BMW uses handsome wood grain dash and door inserts and clean, simple switches neatly lined up next to rather oddly-shaped instrument bezels for the speedometer and tach. The BMW has a slightly more brutal edge, and likes to be flung and muscled around more. Bornhop came in from the track and said, "I suspect that my heart rate is about 20 beats per minute higher in the BMW than the Porsche.
Every Z4 comes standard with BMW's Run-Flat Combination (RFC) wheel-tire system, an important step forward in personal safety, convenience and in-vehicle space utilization. Not only is the Z4 a virtually all-new BMW roadster; it's option list offers exciting and numerous new ways to suit its owners' priorities and tastes.
The BMW Z4 M Coupé is also unmistakable, dynamic and full of character from behind: The passenger compartment merges dynamically into the rear end of the car, giving the rear wheel arches a particularly powerful and muscular look. High-speed power unit for incomparable performance and precisely this is what the BMW Z4 M Coupé has to offer, with its six-speed manual gearbox laid out for optimum performance throughout the engine’s entire gearshift and speed range.
Sources say BMW is readying a larger sports car for launch in 2009, perhaps as a 2010 model in the US. This so-called "Z9" is a spiritual successor to the retro-look turn-of-millenium Z8, but will have contemporary-BMW styling. No word yet on engines, but one or more are possible, all borrowed from existing BMWs. Still, BMW will be gunning for the new Audi R8 and other big-buck "exotics," plus expected newcomers like a redesigned Acura RSX and a high-power Lexus sports car. Options this year included heated seats, a navigation system, and BMW Assist emergency and concierge service.
Here's the BMW prototype roadster that caused a split among those who thought was the new Z9 (Z8 replacement) and others who swore it was the Z4.
